Deep marine sedimentary archives contain some of our best records of continental margin denudation histories. My EU-funded postdoctoral project at the GFZ Potsdam involves developing new models for simulating sediment transport, seascape evolution, and the development of stratigraphy in deep marine basins. The ultimate goal is to couple these new models with existing landscape evolution models to enable quantitative inversion of deep marine stratigraphy for denudation histories on continental margins.
